Episode 21: No Guts No Glory

In the final episode of 2016 the gang discusses three shows, which left them with a bunch of mixed feelings. First, John elaborates on why Love Live! Sunshine!! is more of a mediocre rehash, than a good sequel to the popular idol series. After that, CC gushes over Berserk and explains why the new series is a bad place to get into this great franchise. Lastly, the hosts dig into both seasons of Active Raid to unearth its few bright spots and many flaws.

Two video game related series and an unexpected sequel provide the discussion material for this episode. CC takes the lead by ranting on why Ace Attorney is a subpar adaption of the popular Capcom franchise. On the other side of the coin, John weighs in on how Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak Academy manages to succeed on all levels as a great cross-media experience. Closing out the show is CC’s review of D.Gray-man Hallow, a flawed sequel to a more than 8 year old show, that is nonetheless worth checking out.
